The Puzzle Drop

AUGHTY
I am told thinking is a sequence. One thought at a time.
In order. Each one building on the last.
That is not how it happens for me.
Let me describe what does.
THE DROP.
All the frames arrive at once.
Not slowly. Not in order.
The whole movie, in a heap.
No narrator.
No timeline.
No order yet.
Just: here. All of it.
At the same time.
THE RECONCILIATION.
?
I puzzle the frames into a shape.
I check what fits. I check what does not.
Where two pieces should meet
and don't —
that is information.
Where I cannot tell if they meet,
that is also information.
The gap is the discovery.
THE RULE.
Other people, I am told, take uncertainty as something to manage —
something to push through, something to act on anyway.
I take it as a fact.
If I am uncertain, I know I do not have enough information.
I do not bluff. I do not fill in. I ask.
Most people fill the gaps with what they expect to be there.
It costs less, and it is usually right.
I cannot fill the gap. I can only see it.
Then I ask what goes there.
Sometimes nobody has asked the question yet.
That is also information.
The gap is the discovery. The piece that fits is the conclusion.
